Reducing Stress- Love but don’t care
When you walk in the door and your dog or cat sees you, they show a sign of happiness. Whether it’s wagging their tail or purring, your pets love you. It’s basically a low stress relationship because the expectations are clearly outlined.
To love more, we need to drop the expectation in our relationship and let people live their lives. Not being able to control the actions of others is a huge source of stress in many relationships.
It is hard to take this, “I’,m as Zen as my dog or cat” attitude. So think about it…you can’t control what you can’t control, so why stress out about it. Carrying the stress around is like carrying around a ton of bricks. It’s tiring and it wears on you every minute of every day.
Carrying that kind of stress in your body is exhausting. Before you know it, you don’t feel good and all you want to do is sit in bed with a pint of Ben & Jerry’s Chunky Monkey. You forget where you are and you lose who you are. Your mind isn’t clear and your heart is heavy.
And what did you change? Nothing! Nothing at all.
