Gael J. Ross, LCSW
Gael Ross is a licensed clinical social worker who holds an undergraduate degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology and Master’s Degree in Social Work. She has been in private practice for over thirty years.
Gael’s passion in life is animals, and she has always had a dog or cat or bird in her life since she was a young child. The love of animals is in her DNA!
Upon losing her dog, Madison, in 2009 she has written a book on pet loss as both her own therapy and catharsis as well as seeing the need for others to have a way of working through the painful and immediate loss of a beloved pet. Her book is both a diary and a journal with quotes from many well- known people as well as her own words of wisdom.
A 30 Day Guide to Healing from the Loss of Your Pet has been reviewed in the American Journal of Veterinary Medicine, and has also received the prestigious award from the Dog Writer’s Association of American as the best book in the human/animal bond category. This award is known as the Maxwell Medalian.
In addition to writing her book on pet loss, she has been heavily involved in animal rescue. She is a Minnesota native and until moving South (North Carolina) she had no idea of the plight of animals in some of the southern “shelters..” A purchase of ten or more copies of the book results in a 40% discount making it possible for various animal shelters and organizations to use the book in various fund raising capacities.
