Organic Pet Recipe Time!

Fresh organic ingredients are best for people and pets.

With more and more pet food and product recalls, many pet owners are looking for safe, organic alternatives.  These alternatives include pet food, treats and homeopathic remedies they can make at home, using fresh, natural, organic ingredients.

We wanted to share this recipe we found for treats.

 Paw-T4’s     (Tasty Tuna Tidbit Treats)

These treats are both cat and dog friendly!

1 cup organic whole wheat flour
6 oz. can tuna in oil – undrained
1 Tbls. vegetable oil OR bacon grease
1 farm fresh organic egg

-Combine all ingredients; mix well; add small amounts of water if mixture is too thick.
-Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and roll out to 1/4″ thick.
-Cut shapes out of dough with a cookie cutter and place 1″ apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Cut them into large or small pieces appropriate    for your pet’s size.
-Bake in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes, or until firm.
-Allow to cool on wire racks.

Store in tightly sealed container or best if in the freezer.  Will keep for several months in the freezer.

  1. I’ve tried a recipe similar to this and my pets loved it. The cat in particular because of the tuna, but my cat is weird and that’s the only thing other than cat food that she’ll eat.

  2. Glad your Kitty likes homemade treats! It is fun to make something special for them. Thanks for stopping by!
