The Company of Animals Improves Upon Its Patented HALTI® Design

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (October 31, 2013) – When The Company of Animals’ founder, Dr. Roger Mugford, created the first HALTI® headcollar in 1982, he changed the way that dogs are walked. That’s because the HALTI is designed to simplify training, and general pet handling, by gently reminding pets of their own force – helping to curb excessive pulling before it begins. This friendly training tool helps pet parents communicate with their canine and has proven to be more effective than other products on the market, like choke chains, that can be unkind and overly aggressive. And now, Mugford is proudly introducing the new and substantially improved HALTI OPTIFIT.

Like his original HALTI design, the new OPTIFIT naturally prevents dogs from pulling in an effective, friendly and humane way by guiding the dog’s head, so the animal’s body naturally follows. The OPTIFIT also features several key product upgrades that dogs and their families will appreciate. For instance, the OPTIFIT is free of metal components that may irritate the dog’s face, and includes a clever internal neoprene padding system to ensure maximum comfort for the pet.

The design is branded “OPTIFIT” because of its smart, moveable elements that follow and fit the contours of the dog’s face – no matter the breed or how wide or narrow the dog’s muzzle. Optimum sizing to suit the individual dog’s needs is further enhanced by a clever camlock adjustment to the muzzle length. Pet parents need only to select the proper size for their pet, choose from small, medium and large options, and adjust for the perfect fit.

The new HALTI OPTIFIT is not just a passive means to stop dogs from pulling; rather, it is an educational tool within a carefully constructed training system. The system is explained in an illustrated manual and an exclusive 25 minute DVD where Dr. Mugford, trainer to the Queen’s corgis, gives owners a step by step account on how to graduate from using a headcollar to a harness, or even free walking.

The OPTIFIT comes with all of these features included in a stunningly illustrated pack that makes the impressive claim of “guaranteed to stop pulling.” The second revolution to walking the dog is underway! | |

  1. I am one of the leaders of a 4-H dog training club. I like to try out all kinds of new dog gear in order to give an honest opinion of it to the kids and if it’s something that might be useful to someone in the future, it’s good to have knowledge of it’s use so my dogs are the guinea pigs!

I’d like to win this for one of my guys who pulls like crazy during our walks.. Sometimes to the point where his armpits are red and chafed from his harness.

Is this contest open to Canadians? If not, then I’d definitely win it for my cousin in the US whose 80 lb pup pulls as well.

We would like to try this unique headcollar; have never tried this type of collar/leash and Jozi sometimes does pull immensely when we are walking.
Thanks for the opportunity to win this great prize!
