Helping people and pets in Japan and flood victims in NJ
Some of you who enjoy writing or reading pet blogs may know about BlogPaws. In fact two of the founders Tom Collins and Yvonne DiVita will be on our radio show this Thursday. Anyway, we were blog hoping and saw on the BlogPaws blog, that Tom’s son is in Tokyo, Japan. He said they have spoken via Skype and he is OK.
Tom took the time to compile a list of charities for pets and people in Japan and posted the chip in below.
Here is some of the link information Tom posted:
- World Vets news and donation page; Facebook page
- American Red Cross
Or are actively planning their response:
- International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW)
- World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA)
- American Humane Association’s Red Star Animal Emergency Service
For more information, please check out his post.
Our thoughts and prayers are will all of the people and pets in Japan as well as all of our friends suffering from the floods in Northern NJ right now. We have seen the floods in that area first hand many times, as we used to live not far from the flood prone areas and we use to stable Sunny in Pompton Plains, which is part of the effected area. The Red Cross helps many people in that geographic location as well. The news just reported that over 2,000 people are still evacuated from their homes. We have not been effected in coastal central New Jersey, but thank you to our friends who have been checking in with us. Again, our thoughts and prayers are will all.
