For Bunny Sake
Domestic rabbits are the third most surrendered animals at shelters behind dogs and cats. Sadly, as with most other shelter animals, if no one offers to adopt those rabbits, they are destroyed.
We are an all-volunteer organization based in southern New Jersey. Currently, we do not have a public facility (but we are working towards that goal!). Our rescue is made up of volunteers who house our rescued rabbits inside their own homes until a forever home is found.
For Bunny Sake Rabbit Rescue rescues buns from shelter in the NJ/PA/DE area and places them in our volunteers’ foster homes. Our rescued rabbits:
- receive medical care,
- are spayed/neutered,
-are socialized with the volunteers’ family,
-become accustomed to household noises,
- are handled daily, and
- are cage litterbox trained,
all in preparation for being adopted into a forever home.
Since April 2004, For Bunny Sake Rabbit Rescue has taken in 260 abandoned or unwanted rabbits and we have found homes for 185 of them (with more adoptions currently pending!)
In addition, two of the rabbits who have entered into our rescue, Dandi and Brownie, are permanent For Bunny Sake Residents due to extensive medical conditions. They will live the rest of their lives in our loving care.

May 30, 2009 (Saturday)— 1p.m. to 4pm. Come visit us at the Marne Vet Clinic Open House, Hainesport, NJ. Several of our adoptable bunnies will be there to meet you!
**Please note, no on-the-spot adoptions are conducted. Only homes that have been previously screened and pre-approved will be able to adopt at our events. Not all of our adoptable rabbits will be at the event, so if you are interested in meeting a specific rabbit please write us ahead of time, and we will arrange to have the bun available for you to meet!
