Celebrity pets update, Celebrities and their PAW-tners

“Celebrities and their paw-tners

Celebrity gossip can be such a guilty pleasure. But, what about their pets? Whether it’s Justin Beiber’s monkey, Miranda Lambert’s six dogs, or Taylor Swift’s kitty, there are headlines everywhere!

How can you say no to an adorable, furry friend?  If I was singer/songwriter Miranda Lambert, I’d probably have six dogs as well. Six, you may ask?! She recently went to just take a peek at an animal shelter, and walked out with another furry family member.  Personally, I can relate. Last week, I adopted an adorable kitty that was wandering the streets, cold, hungry and dying to be loved.

Six dogs would be a little too much as per my landlord, but if you can do it, why not? More power to her!

So, what about Justin Bieber’s  pet monkey? He’s so darn cute…not to mention much more photogenic than I am. According to Foxnews.com and Buzzfeed.com, Bieber suffers the loss of his capuchin monkey, Mally. He received the baby monk as a gift from Jamal “Mally Mall” Rashid (hence the name, Mally) for his 19th birthday. Mally was taken away from his mom too soon from birth, and upon Beiber’s arrival in Germany for his tour, the monkey was placed in a quarantine unit. The little star is now at the Serengeti Park zoo and seems to be quite content.

In regards to travel, no matter how jam-packed Taylor Swift’s schedule is, she always makes time for her kitty, Meredith. Her cat has a twitter account, but then again, why wouldn’t she?  The Scottish Fold even assists Taylor with her shoe wardrobe, as shown in a recent picture on Perezhilton.com. This time around, she’s joining Taylor for her European Tour! It’s a very common instance, as Kristen Stewart travels with her Bengal cat Max (also called Jella, as she’s believed to have an alter ego), and as Bradley Cooper vacations and does business with his chow-retriever mix, Charlotte. I wouldn’t mind trading places with Charlotte for a day!

The great thing about being a pet lover? You can give back as a whole, whether you’re a celebrity or not.  There are numerous charities and events dedicated to help animals.  On Look To The Stars.com  there are over 649 celebs that support animal causes. Betty White and Rachel Ray are only two of the many well-known people that take pet advocacy seriously. Rachel donates all of the money she earns from Nutrish, her line of delicious dog food and treats, to assist and promote her $100K challenge for pet organizations around the world. Betty White, on the other hand, has been working with an association called the Morris Animal Foundation that conducts health studies for cats, dogs, and wildlife.  There are endless ways and charities to contribute to-it’s a matter of deciding what you’d like to take part in.
